Push Through Hindrances

Hindrances are part of human lives. These are challenges that test our ability and well-being. We cannot stay away from such but at least we can overcome these obstacles. What matters most is one's will in pursuing his goal despite the failure and difficulties he encounters.

Everyone has goals in life. These are what they aim and desire to attain and achieve. In addition, goals serve as direction in one's life. In attaining such, we cannot avoid hindrances that may lead us to failure. But then, let's be brave enough to face these. After all, it will then lead us to a better and stronger individual and to have a more fruitful life.

As a human being, I have already gone to failures and success. Attaining my goals in life was not that easy for there are obstacles that hinders me from attaining such. Yet, these did not stop me from continuing the battle of life. I know these are merely challenges and if I decided to quit, I'll just end up being a loser. My faith in God was my strength in pursuing my goal. I know that He will guide me in everything I do and that He has given me these challenges in order to become a stronger and better person. As a human, a youth, a daughter and a student, my role in life was not merely to focus on my own self. My existence was not meant to live alone but to live for the service of others.

In the article "The Will of a River", the author emphasizes the importance of human life; that despite the trials you are confronted with, life must not stop. We must not lack the power of will to push through hindrances. We must have this determination to continue pushing our way to our life's goal. Nevertheless, we must not limit ourselves to our own lives. We need others as well as they need us. There are instances in life in which we cannot cope up with our problems merely by our own selves. Thus we need others to overcome these hindrances.

Let us be brave enough to face life's challenges. Determination is needed most in attaining our goals. Moreover, let us not forget to ask for God's help and guidance in every action we take and for all the hardships we encounter. He is always there to help us.

Poverty Rate on the Rise!

We are undoubtedly aware that due to the recent economic crisis we are confronted with, most Filipinos are in the state of hardship and suffering. In fact, poverty rate is on the rise! But wait.., What is poverty? How does it affect our personal life as well as our huge, impersonal society?

Poverty is the term used to denote the state of one with insufficient resources. In a broader sense, it is synonymous to the common words neediness, poorness or unprosperousness. Basically, when one is in the state of poverty, he is in difficulty of supplying his basic needs and moreover, he is experiencing scarcity of money- the thing which everyone in the community desires and which is noted to be of great importance. Prior to this, poverty-stricken people are likely to experience extreme hunger, a sense of neediness, prone to sickness and malnutrition, uneducated, and the like which seriously made their life miserable. It is quite awful to know that most of our countrymen do experience this kind of life. Moreover, due to the financial crisis we are dealing with in our status quo, everything else seemed to be worsened. The poor gets more poorer! Our global market is in an era of recession, underemployment and unemployment rate is on the rise and in the large part of the world many do experience extreme hunger!

Let’s consider the effect of poverty in our economic status. Obviously, poverty is a disadvantage prior to our economic development. Since many are unemployed and jobless, many are in the state of suffering. Thus, we do experience economic breakdown. As a result, progressiveness would merely then be a word that is something hard to reach. In addition, poverty leads people to be engaged in illegal activities. Because poverty-stricken people are out of job and of extreme neediness, they would allow their selves to do illegal acts just to experience a sense of temporary satisfaction. Robbery, holdappings, kidnappings, drug trafficking are merely some activities they are likely to be in.

But then, who’s to be blame from all these happenings? Is it considered as an individual’s fault? or something that must be regarded as the problem of the government? Practically, it may be both. The latter must also take a great part in solving this problem as the first would. Technically, most individuals are jobless due to their idleness (laziness). They are inactive looking for a job that’s why in the end they suffer the consequences of being impoverished. On the other hand, most people blame it on the government side. Yet it is to be agreed also that the government must also play its roles in finding solutions regarding poverty rate. The problem is, they are more on words rather on actions. During campaigns for elections, one of the platforms of those personalities who wish to run and be elected is to provide job opportunities and to lend a hand for the poor. But then, still many are out of jobs and poverty rate continue to increase. Is it really because we do have corrupt leaders who continue to take advantage of the land’s resources just for personal gains?

Poverty is something that must be solved. If we want to be progressive, then we must battle with hope and optimism towards prosperity.

Security in th City

Security is synonymous to the word safety. Just imagine a world of chaos and disorder... doesn't it look gruesome and alarming? Practically, that is merely a situation wherein security is needed as well as of importance. The basic reason of having security in the city is to implement a sense of assurance for everyone, Peace and Order, and moreover, to contribute for the stability of a certain place. Peace and Order is highly recommended to attain a state of peacefulness and progressiveness not just for the city but furthermore, for our country as well. Thus, security and safetiness for everyone is a must.
We are indeed aware of the recent or on-going terrible happenings taking place in some part of our country specifically in Zamboanga City. In fact, our city did faced various incidents which hinder or bog down its battle towards peace and order. Through these months, we were alarmed by the different reported incidents in our city. The issue on local kidnappings, holdapings, bombings, and the like which posed a threat to everyone certainly created fear and panic among individual themselves and their families. Does it mean that the security in our city is not that strong?
Anyway, Peace and Order will not always be under control with the help of our local authorities but of course on the people as well. The cooperation of everybody is very important. The visibilitty of police in all major streets in the city just to secure the city from any criminal acts is of highly appreciation. As I have noted, we must also take part and act towards the implementation of Peace and Order and help in providing a sense of security in the city. We must report to the auhorities suspicious-looking personalities that we may see in school premises and other establishments. And to ensure our own safety, we must avoid going out alone. By these acts, we can contribute towards the development and progress of our country.

Movies

Movies are form of entertainments. They are like spices that help life not to be monotonous. It is also considered as one of the products made by the advancement of technology. There are different types of movies- horror, drama, adventure, comedy, and so on. But we should also take note that without men, there would be no movies in existence.

I'm not that kind who is really a movie fanatic. In fact, there are just few movies I love to watch. I'm not also fond of going into the theaters. One of the movies I like to watch is "Harry Potter". Well, I am definitely an avid fan of it. In fact, I do read its books! It is one of the movies that really interest me most.

Movies do not merely entertain us but also serve as source of information. We get ideas and views from the movies we watched. It maybe of advantage or disadvantage depending on how does the individual deals with it.

A Tribute for all the Moms..

How many times have you been told of how important MOTHERS are? Once? twice? thrice? four times maybe?
Indeed in reality they are considered as one of the unsung heroes we have at this point in time. Without them our learning life will be monotonous. They are the spices that help us gain better perspectives. Their undying efforts in molding us and providing rooms for developments are some of the things we should be proud of.
In fact, our mother is one of the most important person in ourlives. Just like Dr. Jose Rizal said, "Surely, a man owes everything from his mother, next to God.". She is the one who is willing to care for us, gives everything we want, and teaches us what is wright and wrong. In order to mold their child to become better individuals, is by disciplining them. This is not a way of punishing us but merely one way of showing their love for us. Our mother is also our best friend. They do comfort us and make us happy when we are sad. They give us guidance despite those problems we are confronted with.
So, to all the mothers out there, thank you very much for the love, guidance and care you have given us. You are truly a special part in ourlives. You define a family and without you...we wouldn't be here on earth...

Me? A Bookworm?

Im not that kind whoseinterest is really on reading. It is neither a hobby nor a passion of mine. But as a student and someone who is eager to know and be updated on what is happening in the society, I need to submit myself to the idea that I should be engaged to it. As a matter of factnot all individuals love reading. In a broader sense, it interests some men and bores others. Im not considering myself as a certified bookworm or someone who is fanatic of reading. In fact, I dont read if Im not ask to and if it doesn't suit my interest. Let's just say that some topics in the book is not that interesting. However, an excemption to some aspects especially regarding with my studies. There are times that Im becoming a bookworm. Of course as a student Im afraid of getting failing marks. Suppose we are to be given exams the following day. Thats one of the reasons why I have to stay late at night burning midnight candles reading my lessons. Actually reading is not a disadvantage. The more we read, the more knowledge we earn. Sometimes I do make reading as a pastime especially when Im bored and has nothing to do. That's the basic reason why you shouldn't get me wrong when you see me reading books and other references in the library. If you say that reading is a tiring one, well I suppose I have to agree with you. But remember we are the boss of our own lives. So if you are already tired, why don't you stop... then continue later.
